As the regular season for the Corrales Growers’ Market winds down, our produce, entertainment, and commitment to the local agriculture movement continues. New Mexico is the perfect place to develop sustainable food resources, and the produce and farm goods the vendors provide for the community never disappoints! This week we saw carrots, radishes, bread, quail and duck, preserves, tomatoes, onions, pomegranates, and SUNFLOWERS! That’s right — sunflowers this time of year! This year, ARCA Organics developed an Honor system U PICK program in which you can visit the field off of Corrales Road just north of Wells Fargo, and pick as many sunflower as you would like for 1$/stem. This is an honor system, so you leave your payment at the field. This program continues through mid-November, which is coming up fast – so don’t miss out!! The Market also thanks String Dinner for excellent live music at the Market – THANK YOU everyone! There is one more Market for the Regular Season – NEXT SUNDAY 9AM-12PM. After that, we switch over to our Winter Market schedule, which is the first Sunday of every month December-April. See you soon!
